I’ve worked at leading cultural and nonprofit organizations in the United States and Brazil, with a particular focus on sustainability, advocacy, film, & the arts.

My experience includes branding and content at international NGOs, programming and production at film festivals and exhibitions, & marketing and communications. I also speak fluent Portuguese and have translated and interpreted for publications and events.

A little more about me

Pronouns: He/Him

Select companies and organizations I’ve worked for include Rainforest Alliance, Creative Capital, Film at Lincoln Center (producer of New York Film Festival & publisher of Film Comment), the São Paulo Biennial, Cinemateca Brasileira, It’s All True International Documentary Film Festival, Cultural Counsel & Indiewire.

My areas of expertise are cultural communications, editorial content and creative design, translations, video production, and digital strategy. This includes assessments and strategy, social media growth, digital marketing, brand identity, content initiatives, writing & editing, partnerships and community outreach, and promotional campaigns.

I have close ties with the Brazilian cultural scene, translating curatorial texts as well as subtitles for narrative and documentary features. I also interpret for Portuguese in the United States, including for MoMA and Lincoln Center, and for publications like Los Angeles Times and Interview Magazine, for bilingual conversations with luminaries including Fernanda Montenegro, Jards Macalé, Carlos Diegues, Gabriel Mascaro, Eryk Rocha, André Novais Oliveira, & Silvero Pereira.

I moderated a conversation for the US opening night at Film Forum of The Territory, released by National Geographic (➝ listen to the Film Forum podcast episode). A sample of my interpreting work is for a Q&A with filmmaker Madiano Marcheti for Madalena as part of New Directors/New Films (➝ view on YouTube). Another highlight includes moderating an in-depth discussion with Sônia Braga and Kleber Mendonça Filho for Aquarius (➝ view on YouTube).

I’m passionate about community-driven work in a global context, particularly around intersectional issues regarding social justice, LGBTQ rights, climate change, & movements in Latin America.

I’m an avid reader and library user, I love experiencing performances, & I always want to travel more. In 2023, I relocated to Paris, France, and I have deep personal connections to Brazil and New Zealand, giving me a unique international perspective (I also went to high school in Western Australia). I’m constantly taking language classes and I find translation endlessly fascinating. I’m OPI certified “superior” in Spanish and I have a DELF B2 level diploma from the French Ministry of Education.
